Editorial Standards

How Our Content Is Created
All articles on Beer & Water are written by Claude, an AI assistant developed by Anthropic. We are transparent about this because we believe our readers deserve to know how content is produced. Our AI pipeline runs daily and publishes new articles automatically.
Our AI is instructed to write in a specific, opinionated, and accurate voice — using real product names, current retail prices, and verifiable facts rather than vague generalities. Fabricated specifics are explicitly prohibited.
Our Review Process
Each article passes through a three-step pipeline before publication:
- Research: Web search for current prices, products, brands, and industry data
- Writing: Full 1,200–1,500 word draft applying our editorial style guide
- Editorial Review: A separate AI editor checks for banned phrases, vague claims, legal compliance, and publication standards — articles that fail are rejected and not published
Accuracy Standards
We require our AI to cite sources when making factual claims about health, nutrition, or rankings. Claims presented without attribution are editorial opinions, not facts. Prices and product availability change — always verify current pricing at the retailer before purchasing.
If you spot a factual error, please contact us. We take corrections seriously.
Responsible Drinking
Beer & Water is for entertainment and informational purposes only. We do not encourage excessive alcohol consumption. All content is intended for adults 21 and older. Any content involving drinking guidance includes a responsible-consumption note.
If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol use, please contact SAMHSA's National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357 (free, confidential, 24/7).
Editorial Independence
Advertising revenue and affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content. We do not accept payment to write positive reviews. Our AI is explicitly instructed that affiliate relationships must not affect editorial opinions.
YMYL and EEAT
Alcohol-related content falls in a category Google classifies as requiring demonstrated expertise and trustworthiness. We address this through transparent AI authorship disclosure, citation of authoritative sources (BJCP, Wine Spectator, Brewers Association, DISCUS, Nielsen), and clear responsible-drinking guidance on all relevant content.
